Hi Folks,
Today is the launch of the second single, Dog Rose, from our upcoming album ‘All The Right Weaknesses’.
Dog Rose was written by Emma and it’s a personal favourite on the album, it includes some amazing lines, ’see how the mountains fill up the sky’, ‘forest decaying, the stench like wine’. I also had an absolute blast playing some fuzzed out country guitar on the breakdown. It’s a track we’ve been playing for a while and I love how it felt like it grew organically around the thunderous heartbeat of Emma’s lap steel.
Filming the video with Lily Doidge was also a ton of fun. It was a grey day in Lewisham up on Telegraph Hill, but while we were filming the early shots a guy next to us kept sending up a full size parasail. It took 30 minutes and a decent crowd before he revealed he was never planning on taking off. Filming a music video is already a pretty surreal experience, so it was nice to see someone doing something equally silly. You can see a few seconds in the video.
We also met a completely tame fox who seemed desperate to be featured in the video, so we happily obliged.
Streaming in all the usual places. Thanks for reading/listening.
Lots of love,
Nyle
