Hey everyone, our second album, ‘All the Right Weaknesses’ is out today.
We’ve done a few interviews in the build up to this release where we’ve been able to share a bit about the process of making the record, our influences going into the studio, and the effect that touring had on this second album (check out the uncut review for example) so we won’t go back over all that here. Instead we thought it might just be nice to share some photos we took on our phones during the week we spent recording at Sickroom Studios last spring. We hope you enjoy the songs!
Thanks BH
All the Right Bedfellows: This was the sleeping arrangement for the week we were recording the album. We’d been together all day almost everyday for like three months at this point on tour haha. We stocked up on those French “stubby” beers on the drive up there.
Tuning up: Patrick, Emma, Nyle in the studio. It was pretty cosy in there.
Shredding’: Emma in her pedal steel corner
Patch: Patrick trying out a Gibson SG which hadn’t been played in a while. Wouldn’t stay in tune so went back to the trusty Strat before recording anything.
Groovin’: Nyle on the bass for his song, ‘Radio Free Bolinas’
Hanging in there: Rowan lookin not so great haha
Rowan revived: That’s more like it!
Doodlin’ I: Emma’s drawing of Patrick playing fiddle on the ‘Holy Smokes’ lyric/chord sheet
Doodlin' II: Same again, but Phoebe playing banjo on the sheet for her song “Curse”
Downtime: Most evenings we would go to a pub called the Ship Inn in Narborough, which is also a Chinese restaurant. We’d play pool whilst waiting for our food.
Nature Lover: Phoebe checking out the fish tank at the Ship Inn with pint o Guinness
Ouch: One night we treated ourselves to a big night out in Swaffham. Emma’s toy monkey lost an arm at the pub though. She bought this at the Monkey World gift shop on tour after a show in Dorset. Monkey World is awesome btw.
Cultured: Emma with cool chimp art at the pub in Swaffham.
Connoisseur: Nyle with the vodka flight he ordered at the Russian restaurant (Rasputin) we went to on our big night out.
KO: The restaurant also had a pool table. Phoebe knocked out here by Ben in what must’ve been a close game.
Thirst trap: Nyle poolside back at Sickroom Studios, whilst Phoebe works on a banjo part. “The only photo I took the entire week” says Nyle.

The CD arrived this morning with our trusty postie, looking forward to giving it a listen. I’ve been raving about you to anybody that will listen. Hoping to make it to Leeds so see you there. Good luck with the tour and album, you deserve every success 🤘
The new album is fantastic, even better than the first - and that was great! A terrific mix of country, rock, folk etc. Very much like the band Divorce actually, who are also excellent.
Hope you guys get the success and exposure you deserve. Perhaps a Mercury Prize nomination?
Looking forward to the London gig immensely. See you at the merch stall afterwards?
